What We Do
The Irish Golf & Club Managers’ Association (IGCMA) was formed in 2010 by the coming together of The Irish Association of Golf Club Secretaries and the CMAE-Irish region. The IGCMA is the only representative body for professional club managers in the Golf, Tennis, Yachting, Leisure and Dining Club sectors in Ireland.
The IGCMA aims to:
- Act as a representative body for professional Club Managers;
- Provide a framework for Educational Qualifications;
- Provide a forum for networking and sharing of ideas;
- Act as a Social and Networking outlet;
- Provide Educational Seminars on relevant current topics.
The IGCMA membership includes full membership of the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) and and also Affiliate membership of the Golf Club Managers Association - GCMA (UK), all included in your annual Subscription.
Benefits of Membership:
Regional educational events are held during the year covering topical events of interest to all club managers. In association with our education Partner, the Confederation of Golf in Ireland(CGI), we now offer the pathway to CCM through the Management Development Program (MDP), Level 1, 2 & 3. These take place both in Ireland and abroad and Irish managers may attend wherever it suits them
We also run the Jonas Winter Education Series, with thanks to Jonas Club Software. These regional meetings, which often feature a guest speaker, are designed to furnish our members with a new skill set and networking opportunity, meeting other like-minded professional club managers and sharing knowledge. This is an invaluable tool for the modern club manager. Most clubs have similar issues and the opportunity to speak to a manager, who may have encountered your particular issue and come up with a solution that may help you, is invaluable.
Educational Qualifications: Members can avail of the opportunity to obtain the Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation through our association with the CMAE. For further information please visit the CMAE website www.cmaeurope.org and through our association with the GCMA UK, members can also avail of their training courses –Certificate in Golf Club Management (part-time) and BA (Hons) Sports Management & Golf Studies (full-time) as well as their online computer training programme. Members can also access their superb online resource for job descriptions, employment Law and many other useful topics.
Members will receive regular communications via newsletter, e-mail blast etc to keep them up to date with the association and the industry at large.
